Where do we go from here?

Losing Dack and Egan has been huge. Form dipped with them in the side but so far under Edinburgh we have always bounced back. The defeat on Tuesday was the first time we had lost 3 in a row under Jed and I feel it was partly because we were missing those 2. Players are confidence people and there is always the knowledge that Dack will help create something if we are losing or Egan will help break up an attack if we are drawing etc. Their presence allows other players more freedom and makes us as a team more dangerous. With the original plan of bringing in Oshilaja to partner Egan going down the pan, we not only lost our chosen centreback partnership entirely but also had to endure Jackson going out as well. If reports of Dack and Egan being out for 6 weeks are correct, they will miss the following games:

DACK AND EGAN:
Scunthorpe v Gillingham
Gillingham v Crewe
Southend v Gillingham
Gillingham v Walsall
Bury v Gillingham

DACK:
Gillingham v Coventry
Sheff Utd v Gillingham

So where do we go from here? The strikers aren't providing much and the defenders are being over-exposed too much. I'd try a 4-2-3-1 formation with Wright and Morris in the holding roles giving us an extra defender when Jackson and Garmston get forward. Williams in the number 10 role with McGlashan to his right and either Donnelly or Dickenson to his left for more width and pace. Norris in the strike role and I'd alternate the positions of of the front guys (apart from McGlashan). Think we need to alter how we do things a bit as it has been pretty much the same side game in game out.
