So the Gills have a suspended fine for fielding an ineligible player (Emmanuel Osadebe vs Sheffield Utd on the opening day of the season). According to the article we submitted all the correct paperwork in plenty of time but Osadebe needed international clearance as he was registered with Dundalk and not Spurs! We got him from the Spurs academy so how does that work? Everyone accepts it was a genuine mistake but the real blame lies with the FA for taking a stupid length of time to process it all. The article says that normally this would have been flagged very quickly with the player remaining unavailable until the correct permission would have been sought. He would have had a blooming long wait wouldn't he (although not sure when the prosecution was conducted)?
Instead of a suspended fine, it seems all the blame lies with the FA (they really don't like us) who should be firmly told to not take so long next time and Spurs who couldn't have given the correct details when discussing the transfer!!
