Signing Eaves came as a surprise! If he is able to recreate even a little of the form he showed when he was here before then he must be a good signing. A real goalscoring forward is what Gills seem to have been craving for years; probably since he left! Could this be the final piece of the jigsaw which sees Gills to a promotion place?

Does seem an odd one and I wasn't sure how one of our old guys would fit in with that ethos of using sports science and data to select correct players for roles. But then I saw he got 10 goals in League 1 last season for a side that was relegated. And a 1 year deal to cover injuries probably seems a no brainer. Not sure how much difference "fit" but not "match fit" is but I guess we will find out. With the Kent Cup in the week and the Football League Trophy the week after, that might the perfect chance to get him more match fit (or more chance to injure him)!
