[ 25 Oct 25 ] GILLS v Salford City Match Thread

Postby Garawa » Thu Oct 16, 2025 7:33 pm

- The Gills have won 4 of the 6 meetings with Salford. The only games they did not win bookend the meetings - the 2-2 draw at Salford in April and the 0-3 home loss the first time the sides met in December 2022.
- On the 20th of September, the Gills won a 5th league game out of 6 whilst Salford won a third consecutive league match. At that point both sides had won 6 of their 9 games - the only defeats being for City (2). Since then, both sides have lost 3 of their last 4 league games.
- Salford have won 3 and lost 3 (including their last 2) of their 6 away games this season. Since back to back away league defeats in February, their 13 away league games have produced 7 wins and 3 defeats.
- Salford's 11 leads taken in their 13 league games is the joint highest number in the division along with Harrogate. Those leads are 4 more than they have conceded, also the joint highest difference in League 2 along with Walsall.
- In the previous round of games, the Gills' 20 attempts off target was the most until Salford managed 20 last weekend against Oldham. In those matches, the Gills had 30 attempts in total (on and off target) whilst Salford had 29.
- Salford win an average of 6.23 corners per game and, along with Colchester and Walsall, have won the joint highest (14) in any League 2 match this season. The Gills give away an average of 3.54 and have given away only 5 more than the best side in the division (Cambridge).
