- Fleetwood's 2-0 victory over the Gills in October started a sequence of 5 wins out 6 which culminated in a 5-1 win over Plymouth. Their subsequent 13 league games returned 5 goals in total but have recovered to score 9 in their most recent 7.

GOAL! Fleetwood 1-0 Gillingham: Vassell (pen)

Fleetwood are unbeaten when leading at the break in the league, winning 8 of the 9 games they were ahead in at half time. The Gills have drawn 2 and lost 9 of the 11 they were behind in but those 2 draws have all come in away games (2 draws and 4 defeats).

The second half kicks off.

Akinde causes havoc in the penalty area and forces a good save. The loose ball is collected by Ogilvie who goes down softly in the area but no penalty is given.

Bonham comes out of goal to clear but it falls to a Fleetwood boot and the chip from the half way line comes off the face of the crossbar.

Bonham has to make a good save to deny Madden.

Willock has the ball in the net but the whistle had gone for a foul.

Seems a shame we gave away a penalty so early in the game, or I think looking at everything on the BBC site we could easily have come away with a point .

An early penalty the difference on the night.Disappointing to lose after the decent win v Ipswich. We nearly equalised late on,but it wasn’t to be.Hopefully we can bounce back against Swindon.
