- The sides have previous met in 11 seasons since they first played each other during the 2012/3 campaign. Fleetwood lead the wins with 10 and the Gills have won just 4. 7 meetings have been drawn including 3 of the previous 5.
- Fleetwood are unbeaten in 10 meetings against the Gills and have won 5 of them since the Gills won 3 in a row against them, the last of which occured back in November 2018. They have won 3 of the previous 6 - each by a 2-1 scoreline.
- The Gills last (and only) win at Highbury came back in December 2017. Since then they are winless in 6 visits (3 defeats in their previous 4 away at Fleetwood) and their record there stands at 1 win and 6 losses in their 11 visits.
- Fleetwood have started the season winning both matches 1-0. They came after winning 1 and then drawing 3 of their final 4 matches of the season following a 2-5 home defeat to Barnet. This season's clean sheets were their first after 7 without any.
- Fleetwood's 2-5 home loss back in April was their only home defeat in 9 matches, a spell that produced 5 draws. It came after 4 successive home defeats following their 2-1 victory against the Gills back in December.
