Whilst switching through the channels the other night, I stopped for a while on the Indian Premier League, football of course. Kerala Blasters were playing Pune City. The reason I'm mentioning this on the Gills discussion site is because the Kerala manager/coach was none other than Peter Taylor. Also they have Stephen Bywater and in the 72nd minute, Antonio German came on. I checked them out and apparently they were founded by Sachin Tendulkar and had an average attendance last season of 47,427 with a semi final attendance of over 61,000. I reckon they must have found a good little earner. I couldn't imagine Gillingham paying there wages. Incidentally, the coach of Pune was David Platt.

Didn't realise David Platt was there as well. There was a lot of talk here when Taylor went there. Apparently they wanted as many ex-Premier League connections as possible to promote it but he has been sacked now and replaced by Terry Phelan apparently!

Tell Scally not to buy a team there, owners are loosing there butts by the hour, the average cost of a ticket is around 50 pence, although of course there are Bollywood stars paying hundreds of pounds for boxes.
The Super League that attracts the 40 year old players from Europe has a watching TV audience of around 50 million and the average player is earning like 500,000 pounds for a 10 game season, but the owners of the teams are pouring buckets and buckets of money into keeping it going.
They have the under 17 World Cup being played in India there next time it takes place I believe.
I know we have players of Indian decent bowling for England, any playing in English soccer and the turban, can it be worn on the pitch during a game ??
