And thats how they should think, their playing a team at the TOP of the FIRST DIVISION while they themselves stare at the relegation zone in Division Two, with only three home wins all season. Stevenage 1-3 Gillingham, then we get Maidstone or Dover at home in the second round and double that score..
It would be nice to have a cup run and get a pay day before the transfer window closes . GO BIG BLUE.

Justin Edinburgh thinks the game should be live on TV,but I think there will be many ties ahead of us.Maidstone v Yeovil.Salford v Notts County,Wealdstone v Colchester,FC Halifax/Guiseley v Wycombe,Didcot v Exeter,Gainsborough Trinity v Shrewsbury,Braintree v Oxford,and FC United Of Manchester v Chesterfield.

The draws I was desperate to avoid were long northern trips like Carlisle United, Accrington Stanley or Morecambe, or, we avoided a away trip to a fellow League One Side.

So I am pleased that Gillingham have avoided both of those possible scenario's, Stevenage Away is going to be a very difficult tie and we're not through to The Second Round of The FA Cup by any stretch of the imagination, but at least Stevenage not being far to get to means that there should be a large away support at Broadhall Way, cheering The Gills on for what we hope will be an important win.

If Stevenage away is a difficult tie, then I guess I had better bet the farm on Gillingham having there ass's handed to them this week at Walsall . What do you recon it's going to be Miss Fanny Mulligan , Walsall 5- 1 Gillingham ??
Stevenage have played 15 and won a whopping 3 games, there a tomato can, get your coke from the dollar discount store and book your tickets NOW for round 2.

Chicago are you not aware of the FA Cup any longer over there? I'm pretty certain you are very well aware of the cup "shocks" that happen every year and that this very much falls into that category. Bradford beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last season, do you not think the Chelsea fans said the very same thing. In fact they had even more reason to say so.

This is very tricky if not only for the fact they have a few players wanting to get one over of their old club but also because I'm sure Teddy Sheringham would have stated he wants to beat his old team-mate. With less pressure on them they can use a win to kick start their campaign and I very much see that as a more difficult tie than Walsall away. You are basing it all on paper and football NEVER works like that. Didn't we go out to Brackley Town in this competition recently?

Ok there a 4th division side so to me if Gillingham lost it would not be a shock, a shock is if we lost to a team like Didcot Town. Most teams that go out to minnows play only half the first team, they " rest " key players thinking their bench can beat them, then come "unstuck". I watched Sheff. Wed. dump Arsnal out of the Cup the other day, but Arsnal played a bunch of under 21 players, and the first team players they did play got injured.
Of course a team can strike lightning in a bottle, if Gillingham played Stevenage 10 times this season we would probably win 8 or 9 out of the ten games, and the last time I looked Sherriden wasn't playing ,so I don't think he will score to many goals during the game do you ?
A bad team is a bad team and a good team is a good team, and Gillingham are a good team and Stevenage are a bad team, so no worries about going through to the second round, Stevenage 1-3 Gillingham .

True but take away all the pressure and with home advantage and it evens things up a lot. How many times have we beaten higher league sides yet lost to lower ones. Normally we just don't perform well when we are expected to win.
