[ 5 Oct 24 ] Crewe Alexandra v GILLS Match Thread

Postby Garawa » Tue Oct 01, 2024 8:29 pm

- Crewe narrowly edge the wins by 24 victories to the Gills 23. A further 10 games were drawn. Both sides have won 2 of the last 6 meetings.
- The Gills won successive visits to Crewe in 2015 and 2020. Since then, they have lost 2 (both by a 0-2 scoreline) and drawn 1. The Gills have won 5 and lost 3 of their last 10 trips to Crewe.
- Crewe have won 5 of their last 7 league and cup games. These have followed 1 win in the previous 10 (their play off victory against Doncaster) and 2 wins in the 16 before - both away wins.
- A win for Crewe would give them a third successive home league win in a row and a 4th consecutive home win in all competitions. It would also leave them unbeaten in 5 at home since losing 0-5 at home to Chesterfield in August.
- Crewe's 23 shots on target is the joint lowest number of shots for any League 2 side. They scored 8 goals from those 23 whilst the Gills have scored 12 from their 31 shots on target.
