- Grimsby's 1-1 draw at Priestfield last season ended a sequence of 5 successive losses away at the Gills since they last won there back in November 1997.
- Grimsby Town have only drawn once in a league or cup game since the 1st of April (16 games) - a cup game won on penalties. They have won 7 and lost 8 of the others (W, L, W, L, W, L, L, D, W, L, L, W, L, L, W, W).
- Grimsby lost 23 of their 53 league and cup games last season including 5 of their last 9 games. They have started this season with 5 defeats in their 10 matches and, on the road, they had lost 5 away games in a row which ended Saturday with their last minute winner at Carlisle.

(19:46) Kick Off [ 4 - 2 - 3 - 1 ]
(19.56) The Gills have started very brightly, shooting towards the Rainham End in the first half for a 5th successive league game, but Grimsby have the biggest opportunity where a floated ball is tipped away by Morris from under the crossbar and no Town player is following up.
(20.01) Incredible long range range Gills pass is inch perfect. The cross is sent in at pace and the defender's diving header is narrowly wide of the post for a corner.
(20.01) From the corner, Coleman swings a returned ball into the mix straight onto the head of Ehmer whose reaction effort is straight at the 'keeper with everyone barely able to respond differently.
(20.07) GOAL! Gillingham 0-1 Grimsby Town: Green
(20.12) Nolan loops a high ball to Ogie's feet to keep possession. He drives a shot which deflects into the side netting for a corner.
(20.27) Nolan counter-attacks quickly. He fires in a fierce cross-shot which is narrowly wide and also narrowly misses the head of Nevitt following up however it takes a touch for a corner.
(20.31) The referee will add 1 minute to the half.
(20.32) Half time 0-1 [46:07]

(20.47) The second half kicks off.
(21.00) Brilliant Jayden Clarke power cross finds Nevitt at full stretch just a yard or two from goal and he cannot convert his touch, somehow putting it over the bar. Maybe the cross had a little too much on it.
(21.24) A Gills corner ends up with a tight clump of players all trying to locate the ball between their feet. Any touch and it's in but Grimsby scramble it clear.
(21.32) The 4th official signals there will be 7 minutes added on.
(21.39) FULL TIME 0-1 [97:10]
