Postby Garawa » Sat Mar 16, 2024 8:11 pm

- Crewe just edge the wins by 24 wins to the Gills' 23 and just 9 of the 56 meetings have been drawn. Since the Gills won both league fixtures in the 2015/6 and 2020/1 seasons, both sides have each won 2 of the last 5 matches including 1 each from the last 2.
- The Gills have won the last 5 meetings with Crewe at Priestfield, scoring 12 goals and conceding 2. They followed 4 successive Crewe victories at the Gills (the last coming in March 2014) in which they scored 13 goals and conceded 5.
- After an unbeaten away league run of 6 games in which Crewe won 4 games out of 5 on the road, they have lost both of their 2 away games played since. Home and away, they have won 1 and lost 3 of their last 5 games after just 1 league defeat in 11.
- The Gills have conceded 25 leads in their 40 league games with 6 of those coming in their last 5 games. Crewe Alexandra have taken 32 leads in League 2, the most in the division, but only 1 of those have come in their last 4 games.
- In their league games 30 to 33 inclusive, Crewe only faced 4 shots on target during those 4 games and prevented their opponents having any in 2 of them. The 6 games played since saw Crewe face 32 shots, an average of 5.3 per games.
- Crewe have the best shot conversion rate in League 2, scoring from 42.9% of all of their shots on target in the division. The Gills have the worst shot conversion, scoring from 26.5% of their attempts on target.

(15:01) EFL Sky Bet League 2: Gillingham FC vs Crewe Alexandra - Kick Off [ 4 - 2 - 3 - 1 ]

(15.07) Mahoney twists and turns and gets the ball onto his left foot. He finds the perfect cross for Dieng who forces a point blank save from his header and wins a corner. It's the only shot on target in the half.

(15.42) From a free-kick, the ball is played wide to Hutton. His cross into the heart of the 6 yard box and gets past the keeper but somehow there's no touch to take it home.

(15.47) The referee signals for 1 additional minute.

(15.48) Half time 0-0

(16.04) The second half kicks off.

(16.05) Morris lets a back pass across the box get past him. He chases it down but can't keep it from going out for a throw. He dribbles away with the ball to avoid a quick throw with him stranded and receives a yellow card.

(16.16) A low cross by Crewe should be put home with any touch but it's a little too close to Morris who smothers brilliantly.

(16.34) The Gills have a central free kick which Hutton takes. He finds Andrews whose header is brilliantly tipped over from very close range.

(16.49) An additional 4 minutes is added on.

(16.53) FULL TIME 0-0
