- Both the Gills and Sheffield Utd have each won 10 of the meetings between the sides and a further 8 were drawn. Utd won on their last visit to Priestfield in 2016 whilst the Gills won 4-0 the season before - their only win against them in the last 4 meetings.
- The Gills are featuring in the 3rd round of the FA Cup for the 5th time in 13 seasons and all 5 of those occasions have seen the Gills host a Premier League side. Their only success came against Cardiff in 2019, the Gills only appearance in Round 4 since 2004.
- The Gills have won 10 and lost 21 of their 35 matches in Round 3. At home, they have won 8 and lost 10 of the 21 games with all 10 losses coming against higher league opponents. 8 of those 10 games against higher league opponents were against top-flight sides where they won 2 (Charlton and Cardiff) and lost 6.
- Sheffield United have won 2 games this season: home wins over Wolves and Brentford in the Premier League. All other 19 league and cup games ended in 4 draws and 15 defeats.

(15.31) Sheffield United have a free kick. An outstretched boot just misses and it goes out for a free kick.

(15.34) A Mahoney free kick finds the head of Hawkins whose shot is saved brilliantly however the offside flag goes up.

(15.43) Another Mahoney free kick finds Hawkins who forces a good save. Nadesan's follow-up is blocked for a corner.

(15.46) The referee adds on 2 additional minutes.

(16.05) The second half kicks off.

(16.15) Hawkins heads over from a great position following a corner.

(16.25) Sheffield United have the third of 3 great opportunities to score in quick succession without pressing Turner hard.

(16.30) Mahoney looks to have scored as half the ground cheer. It finds the side netting after a deflection.

(16.38) From a free kick, Ehmer's header hits the inside of the right post and comes back out across the face of the goal.

(16.39) Turner makes a big save one on one.
