- Fulham U21s have not won in 5 games in this competition since a 2-1 win at Wycombe in November 2019. They have drawn their last 3 games, losing on penalties on each of them and these followed 2 successive losses.

- Since losing 0-2 at home to Ipswich and West Ham U21s in the 2021/2 season, the Gills have won 2 and drawn 1 of the 3 home group stage matches and the draw against Colchester saw the Gills win the penalty shootout. The Gills have not progressed out of the group stages in the last 2 seasons.
