- The Gills have never played reformed Hereford FC. Their last visit to Edgar Street to play Hereford United saw the Gills run out 6-1 winners in September 2011 before winning 5-4 at Priestfield. The Gills are unbeaten in 3 visits (1 win, 2 draws).
- Hereford have won 6 and lost 1 of their last 8 league and cup games after losing 5 of the 6 before them (including a spell of 4 consecutive losses). They have played 3 rounds in the FA Cup this season, winning all 3 and scoring 6 goals without conceding a goal.
- At home in league and cup games, Hereford have won all 4 of their last 4 matches. They followed 2 successive losses after they won their first 2 home games of the season. They have a home record of 6 wins and 2 defeats out of 8.
- Since leaving the Championship and re-starting the FA Cup in Round 1, the Gills have faced non-league opposition in the round 10 times out of the 19 seasons. All bar 2 of the last 9 have started with a match at Priestfield - Hereford this season and AFC Fylde last season.
- The Gills have won 12 and lost 5 of the 22 away games in Round 1 against non-league opposition, the last win being a replay win at Hartlepool in 2018. Home and away, it is 30 wins and 8 defeats in the 50 games against non-league opponents.
- 4 of the last 5 seasons have needed replays in Round 1 and the Gills have won 4 and lost 1 of the 9 matches. This is the Gills 132nd match in the first round and they have won 55 and lost 42 of them (18 wins and 26 defeats from the 64 away and neutral games played in Round 1).
