- Tranmere have double the number of wins as the Gills (14 to 7) and a further 15 been drawn. The Gills lost the reverse fixture earlier in the season and drew their only League 1 fixture in 2019 since the last time the sides met at Priestfield in April 2014.
- The Gills beat Tranmere the last time the sides met at Priestfield. This followed 2 successive home defeats to Tranmere without scoring. After 6 successive home draws with Tranmere in the 60s & 70s, the results against Tranmere at Priestfield since stands a 5 wins, 2 draws & 3 defeats.
- After 12th placed Tranmere had won 8 of their opening 18 league and cup games, they have since won 6 of the 24 games in all competitions. The Gills have won 6 of their last 11 games.
- After 4 successive away defeats, Tranmere won their last game on the road at Stevenage - a side who have only won 1 of their last 7 league games. 3 consecutive away league wins have been followed by 2 wins and 5 defeats in the last 10.
- At an average of 9.3 fouls per game, Tranmere are winning the fewest number of fouls in League 2. They have however won 13, 14 and 16 fouls in their last 3 league games.
- When Tranmere concede a goal, they have endured the greatest percentage of deficits in League 2. 63.6% of all the goals they have conceded have put them behind in the match.

(15.00) Kick Off [ 4 - 1 - 3 - 2 ]

(15.17) A MacDonald corner from the Medway Stand side of the pitch finds Williams unmarked on the left hand edge of the 6 yard box. His header is well gathered by the Tranmere 'keeper.

(15.21) Tutonda intercepts a pass and bursts forward on the left. He sends in a delicate cross which trickles gently towards the far post but the defence clear just in time.

(15.27) A Tranmere cross comes off of Tutonda. The ball rolls slowly across the face of goal and out for a corner.

(15.30) Another MacDonald corner finds Williams. This time Tranmere clear and Williams hooks the ball over his head and goalwards but the ball lands just wide of the post.

(15.32) GOAL! Gillingham 1-0 Tranmere Rovers: Williams
Another MacDonald corner from the Medway Stand side of the pitch finds Williams unmarked on the left hand edge of the 6 yard box. This time the 'keeper is more central and his header finds an empty part of the net.

(15.46) Half time 1-0

(16.03) The second half kicks off.

(16.21) Hearts-in-mouth moment as Morris comes to gather a high ball but spills it under pressure. A goalmouth scramble needs Ehmer to clear off the line but the whistle goes for a foul on Morris, one of two fouls he wins in the game.

(16.23) Yet another MacDonald corner finds Dieng this time. Again the far side of the goal is unguarded and a header on target is a certain goal but Dieng somehow heads over from 2 yards out.
