[ 28 Jan 23 ] Swindon Town v GILLS Match Thread

- It is very even between the sides. Swindon lead the wins 36 to the Gills' 34 and a further 31 were drawn. The Gills are unbeaten in the last 3 meetings (2 wins) and have lost just 1 of the last 12 (Feb 2017).
- The Gills' last 3 visits to Swindon have seen the game end in a 3-1 scoreline. 2 of those have been 3-1 wins for the Gills, including their previous trip in March 2021, and they have scored 3 goals there in 3 of their last 4 visits. They have won 3 and lost 1 of their last 5 trips to the County Ground.
- Swindon beat Grimsby 5-0 on Saturday to record their first home win in 5 games following a spell of 2 draws and 2 defeats. These came after they had won 5 out of 6 home league matches.

(16.29) Masterson is on hand to thwart a very good Swindon attack. Gills break and Nichols is wrestled to the ground in the centre circle. hawkins goes down easily from the free kick but the ref waves away any appeals.

(16.42) Red Card! Khan picks up a second yellow card for Swindon and is sent off.

(16.43) The Swindon keeper makes a brilliant save to prevent the Gills taking the lead but it may have been ruled out for an infringement had it gone in.

(16.51) Gills press for a winner but Swindon break. Morris makes himself big and makes a match-winning save. From the resulting corner, a shot deflects just wide with Morris beaten.

(16.57) Lapslie has a shot charged down and the ref blows the whistle immediately after.
