- Wolves lead the wins over the Gills by 7 wins to 6 and there have only been 2 draws. The Gills won the last meeting in January 2014 and have won 2 of the last 4, losing 1 of them.
- The Gills have lost 3 of their last 4 visits to Wolves including 0-6 and 0-4 losses. They are winless in 5 games since their last win there - a 1-0 cup victory in January 2002.
- In the 15 meetings, Wolves have scored double the number of goals over the Gills (32 to 16). 18 have been conceded in the most recent 7 meetings during which the Gills scored 3 goals.
- Both the Gills and Wolves sit bottom of their league tables with 2 wins apiece. Between them, they have played a combined total of 35 league games which have produced just 14 goals.
- The Gills have only twice before reached Round 4 of this competition, losing 3-1 to top flight Leicester in the 1963/4 season and then a 0-1 defeat at Ipswich Town in 1996/7 (both away from home).

(19.45) Kick Off [ 5 - 4 - 1 ]
Wolves new manager finally gets to take charge of his first game due to the World Cup with a number of Qatar 22 players available to him. Gills can only field 4 outfield subs due to a viral infection that has swept through the squad.

(20.00) Joe Hodge's shot from 15 yards is blocked well by Stuart O'Keefe and then, from the corner, Ruben Neves has an effort from 20 yards blocked by Ehmer.

(20.07) Diego Costa, knowing Turner is behind him, attempts to glance a backwards header beyond him but the effort is well wide.

(20.19) Neves strikes a free kick narrowly wide of the post.

(20.28) A golden opportunity for Hodge to head beyond Turner but he glances his effort comfortably wide of the right post from a few yards out!

(20.31) A lovely training ground routine sees a corner left by all to reach Neves some distance from goal and his shot strikes the post.

(20.32) Half time 0-0

(20.47) The second half kicks off.

(21.15) An Adama Traore cross is headed just over the bar by Neves.

(21.16) Triple sub for the Gills as Williams, O'Keefe and Jefferies come off for McDonald, Lee and Reeves.

(21.18) Penalty! Turner makes a great save from Nelson Semedo but seconds later, Alexander is judged to have very gently pushed over a Wolves attacker.

(21.19) GOAL! Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0 Gillingham: Jimenez

(21.33) GOAL! Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-0 Gillingham: Ait-Nouri

(21.36) Lee Chan Hwang has a great chance to add a third but lifts the ball over the bar from 12 yards with Turner stranded.

(21.36) FULL TIME 2-0
