- There have been 114 previous meetings between the sides with Northampton winning 53 and the Gills winning 41. Northampton have drawn and won their previous 2 visits to Priestfield since last losing there in November 2016.
- In all competitions, Northampton won 8 of their opening 14 games but have won only 1 of the 8 played since.
- Northampton have lost 3 league games, all by a 1-0 scoreline. Successive 0-1 league defeats in October ended with Northampton being unbeaten in 4 league games, drawing 3 of them.
- Northampton have taken 18 leads in their 17 league games this season, the most of any League 2 side. They have taken 1 lead from their last 2 games (both at home) but took 3 in their away game at Stevenage.
- Northampton have scored 18 second half goals, the most in the division. The Gills 2 goals after half time is the fewest in the division. These goals have enabled Northampton to be the League's top scorers (29) and the Gills lack of goals for them to be the lowest scorers (6).
- Both sides have conceded 8 league goals after the break - the Gills conceding 3 in 2 games after scoring none in 8 the games before them and Northampton letting in 3 in their last 3 games after scoring 1 second half goal in 8 league games.

(15.03) Kick Off [ 4 - 2 - 3 - 1 ]

(15.04) An early attempt from the visitors forces Morris to make a good parry away.

(15.30) GOAL! Gillingham 0-1 Northampton Town: Hoskins

(15.26) Shaun Williams (Gillingham) is fouled by Shaun McWilliams (Northampton), the first of a few fouls between the pair.

(15.33) The ball is heading out but Northampton head it back towards goal and any touch would be 0-2. The Gills clear before a follow-up shot flashes across the 6 yard box.

(15.38) A sweeping Northampton move produces a cross from the edge of the box. It misses all attackers and goes out for a throw.

(15.42) Morris claims a Northampton high ball well but lands awkwardly on his shoulder. Town fans jeer but he needs to be replaced by Turner.

(15.52) Half time 0-1

(16.07) The second half kicks off.

(16.11) Green receives the ball on the right hand edge of the box. A lovely flick and instant turn gives him enough space to drill a fierce shot past the 'keeper but just over the crossbar.

(16.29) Kashket stays onside and waits for support. He finds Walker whose first time strike is somehow just wide of the left post when it should have been 1-1.

(16.30) Northampton respond quickly. A cross results in a glancing header that goes just wide.

(16.34) GOAL! Gillingham 0-2 Northampton Town: Bowie

(16.49) Alex MacDonald tries his luck from all of 30 yards, his powerful effort is well struck but is very straight and sent directly to the Northampton 'keeper.

(16.59) FULL TIME 0-2
