[ 22 Oct 22 ] GILLS v Barrow Match Thread

- The Gills last met Barrow in league competition in the 1971/2 season. The Gills are winless in 4 meetings with Barrow, last winning a league game against them in April 1969.
- Barrow have won 10 of the 20 league games whilst the Gills have won 5. A further 5 meetings were drawn. Barrow are unbeaten in their last 2 league trips to Priestfield.
- Barrow won 5 of their opening 6 league games and went on to win 7 of the first 9 before losing the last 4 (0-2, 0-1, 0-1 and most recently 1-2).
- Tuesday night's Football League Trophy win over Carlisle ended Barrow's sequence of 5 consecutive league and cup losses (4 in the league). On the road, Barrow have lost 3 of their last 4 away league games.
- Barrow had scored 10 first half goals before kick off, the joint highest amount in the division, however they had not scored one for 4 games. They have scored 6 in the 2nd half but only 1 in the last 4 games whilst the Gills are the only side who have scored just once after half time.

(15.45) Jefferies chips into the box. It strikes an outstretched arm immediately before Kashket goes down in the box. Nothing is given and the Gills shoot just wide of the post.

(16.03) The second half kicks off.

(16.06) Barrow stretch the Gills defence and force them into a couple of strong blocks to prevent a second. Moments later, Morris has to make a good save and a follow-up deflects off a defender which could easily have been an own goal.

(16.11) PENALTY! Baggott pushes a forward in the box and gives away a spot kick. MORRIS SAVES THE PENALTY!

(16.14) Walker forces an excellent save from the 'keeper who hurts himself giving everything to prevent the equaliser.

(16.31) GOAL! Gillingham 1-1 Barrow: Baggott

(16.34) Green charges into the box and finds Kashket in a good position at the near post but he is slightly to far over and puts the shot just wide.
