[ 9 Apr 22 ] GILLS v Wycombe Match Thread

- Results between the sides are very close. The Gills have 10 wins, Wycombe have 9 wins and there have been 8 draws. Wycombe won the reverse fixture after the Gills won the 2 matches before (the end of a 3 games game unbeaten run).
- In all competitions, the last 3 games at Priestfield against Wycombe have returned 1 win, 1 draw and 1 defeat. The last 6 have returned 2 wins, 2 draws and 2 defeats. The Gills are unbeaten in 2 after Wycombe won their 2 visits before them which in turn followed an 8 game unbeaten spell for the Gills (5 wins).
- From mid-January to the end of February, Wycombe were winless in 7 games, losing 4 of them including successive defeats at the end of that spell. Since then, they are unbeaten in their most recent 7 games and have won 5 of them.
- Wycombe have won 2 league games in a row and are unbeaten in 3 away games (2 wins) after being winless in the 3 away games before them (2 defeats).
- Wycombe's 4-1 win at Cambridge was the first goal they had conceded after enjoying 4 consecutive clean sheets. They have conceded just 2 goals in 7 games after letting in 11 goals in the 3 games before (5, 3 and 3).

(16.08) The second half kicks off. Key Goal! Doncaster 2-0 Crewe.

(16.28) Thompson is through for the Gills. He pulls it back and it appears to strike a hand but handball appeals are waved away.

(16.37) GOAL! Gillingham 1-1 Wycombe Wanderers: Tucker

(16.40) Key Goal! AFC Wimbledon 1-1 MK Dons.

(16.43) Reeves forces the 'keeper into a good save and wins a corner. He takes it himself and Kelman shoots straight at Stockdale.

(16.45) In his final season, former-Gill Akinfenwa comes on for Wycombe.

(16.48) Red Card! Wing is sent off for the visitors after a reckless 2-footed lunge on Olly Lee.

(16.51) Oliver looks to have had the ball over the line but a great save has prevented him and the referee waves the appeals away.

(16.55) Key Goal! Fleetwood 1-2 Accrington.

(16.58) FULL TIME 1-1
The Gills are in the relegation zone now only on goal difference. They are level on points with Morecambe and their next opponents Fleetwood.

SIXTY -FIVE MINUTES gone and NOT one shot on target,fourth division looming pretty close if we can't get a point at least today.
