- After starting the season away from home 4 years in a row, the Gills open at Priestfield for the second year in a row. Their record when starting at home is W29, D23, L15 and, since 2001/2, they have won 6 of the 8 games.
- Both meetings with Lincoln last season were won 0-3 by the away side. The home side has won just once in 7 meetings - a 1-0 home win for the Gills in November 2019.
- The Gills have kept sheets against Lincoln in 4 of the last 5 meetings. The other was a 0-3 loss at home to Lincoln, 1 of 3 wins for Lincoln in their last 4 visits to Priestfield.
- After 17 wins in their opening 28 league games, Lincoln finished the season with 5 in their final 18 however 3 of those came in their final 5 league matches on the road.
- Lincoln conceded 6 goals in their first 14 away league games but conceded 3 in both of their final 2 away games in the regular league campaign. They let in 14 goals in their final 9 away league games.

- Lincoln scored the joint highest number of 2nd half goals last season (46) - the same number as the total scored by Ipswich and more than the totals managed by Northampton and Bristol Rovers.

(15.02) Kick Off [ 4 - 2 - 3 - 1 ]
The match is preceded by a minutes silence for all those who lost their lives to Covid in the 526 days since fans were last inside Priestfield.

(15.06) GOAL! Gillingham 0-1 Lincoln City: Edun

(15.31) Oliver slams a header against the bar and the follow-up is well saved from Ehmer.

(15.42) Olly Lee twists and tricks his way around the Lincoln defence. He finds a shot but Oliver is flagged offside.

(15.45) Oliver forces a very good stop from the 'keeper. As the ball comes back to him, he draws a foul on the edge of the box which Dempsey takes. It hits the wall before the 'keeper fumbles it after a scramble in the box.

(15.46) GOAL! Gillingham 1-1 Lincoln: Lloyd-McGoldrick

(15.53) Half time 1-1

(16.09) The second half kicks off.

(16.17) Tutonda provides a goal-saving block to deny the visitors a second lead in the match.

(16.30) Oliver goes through on goal and attempts to chip the 'keeper only to chip into his hands.

(16.36) Carayol, a minute after coming on and gaining international clearance just before kick-off, takes a couple of great touches before drilling a shot just wide.

A good point against a good side to start the season with. A blow to go 0-1 down so early, but we got the equaliser and unlucky not to win it late on.
Noircat Premier League Champion 2007,and 2014.Noircat FA Cup (Runner Up 2014).Promoted to the Premier League (Runner Up 2017,and 2020 in the Championship).
