- Results are very close between the sides: The Gills have won 13 meetings, 14 have been drawn and Blackpool have won 15. The Gills are unbeaten in the last 4 meetings and have won 3 of them, scoring 10 goals.
- The Gills last lost at Blackpool in January 2016, their only defeat there in 8 visits (securing 2 wins themselves). Since that defeat, the Gills have drawn 1-1 and most recently enjoyed 3-0 and 3-2 wins.
- Blackpool lost all 3 of their home league matches this season in consecutive games back in October (2-3 v Lincoln, 1-4 v Ipswich and 0-1 v Charlton). They are unbeaten in the 13 home games since (7 wins) and are the only League 1 side not to have lost of their last 9.
- Blackpool have won their last 5 away league matches, all with clean sheets, but have drawn 5 of their last 6 at home keeping only 1 clean sheet.
- Blackpool are unbeaten in 12 league games (7 wins) whilst the Gills have lost 2 of their last 11 (6 wins). In the last 8 game form table, the Gills are 3rd and Blackpool 4th.
- After facing Wigan, who had faced the most shots on target (187), they now face Blackpool who have faced the fewest in the division (98). The Gills had taken 152 league shots on target themselves.
- Blackpool have only been behind in their home league matches for a total of 165, the shortest length of time in League 1. It equates to an average of just 9.7 minutes in each of their 17 home games played.

Looking at the rest of the season we seem to have three tufffff games left and three games that we should be able to win, so just for a bit of fun I think we end up around the 70 / 72 poins mark, would that be enough to get us into the playoffs ?
Charlton have some tough games coming up, Ipswich seem on paper to have a pretty easy finish to the season, ( and I know we don't play the game on paper) ,Blackpool have Sunderland twice (seems odd) and Lincoln, Doncaster with about 20 games left to play seem to have a few "easier" games left, The Gills need to play like they did against Lincoln a couple of weeks back, how great would it be to end the season with a play off game or two or three OR FIVE, lol.

Have to hold our hands up and say we were beaten by the better team. They were clinical as well on the day.It looks unlikely we will get top 6 after this defeat, but hopefully we can bounce back and finish top half still.
