- The Gills have only won 2 of the 25 meetings with Ipswich (both away from home) and Ipswich have won 12 of them. The Gills last won 9 meetings ago in November 2003.
- The last 4 meetings with Ipswich have all been away from home. At Priestfield, the Gills have never beaten Ipswich and have drawn 6 of the 10 played at home.
- After scoring 8 goals in 5 successive matches with Ipswich, the Gills have failed to score in the most recent 6 meetings: 0-1, 0-2, 0-0, 0-4, 0-1 and 0-0.
- Ipswich have failed to score in 4 of their last 6 home games with the other 2 returning 2 goals each. They have scored in all bar 2 of their 13 away league matches including a single goal in each of the last 4 on the road before Tuesday's win.
- Ipswich started the season with 6 clean sheets in their opening 10 league games and have secured 4 clean sheets from the last 7. These account for 10 of the 12 league clean sheets earned this season.

13.00 Kick Off [ 4 - 2 - 3 - 1 ]

13.07
GOAL! Gillingham 1-0 Ipswich Town: Tucker

13.18
With 2 men goal-side on the edge of the box, Olly Lee back heels the ball on to his left foot to lose the defenders and rattles the left hand post.

13.25
Cundy blocks a fierce shot which looked like it was heading for the top right corner of Bonham's goal.

13.30
Like MK Don's opener on Tuesday, Ipswich string dozens of passes together before striking at the Rainham end but this time, an overhead bicycle kick strikes the outside of the post.

13.39
Norwood goes through on goal. Just as he shoots, Tucker's perfectly timed last-ditch sliding tackle in the box puts it out for a corner at the risk of a penalty and red card.

13.48 Half time 1-0 (47:27)
Ipswich have only previously been behind at the break twice in their away league matches this season - they won 1 and lost 1.

14.05
The second half kicks off.

14.06
Excellent play from Ogilvie to battle and stretch for a 50/50 before a lovely ball intersects the Ipswich defence to find Oliver but his effort trickles just wide of the left hand post.

14.10
A powerful chest pass from Ogilvie reaches Oliver in the box but just as he shapes to shoot, the Ipswich defender kung-fu kicks the ball out for a corner.

14.23
Olly Lee has a header at goal which bounces first and into the hands of Tomas Holy. Without the bounce, it looked a certain goal.

14.24
GOAL! Gillingham 1-1 Ipswich Town: Chambers
Ipswich score with their first attempt on target just as their new manager Cook prepares to make a triple substitution.

14.31
Ipswich are flagged offside before putting the ball in the net.

14.33
GOAL! Gillingham 2-1 Ipswich Town: Oliver

14.37
A header just like the Ipswich equaliser strikes the top of the bar, bounces down and cleared for a corner.

14.39
Tomas Holy thwarts 2 Gills attacks outside of his penalty area! His second clearance leads to the Gills third.

14.40
GOAL! Gillingham 3-1 Ipswich Town: Oliver

14.58 FULL TIME 3-1 (100:48)

Fantastic result, not hard to see why when you look at the the stats, 12 shots and 6 on target for the Gills, 8 shots ,1 on target for Ipswich, making Gillingham 3-1 winners. We always seem to rise to the occasion, what a shame we let teams like Wim'don and North'ton take points from us. Well done you Gills ,lets keep this going against Fleetwood and Swindon next week, GO GILLS.

It was a very impressive display. We didn't let Ipswich settle on the ball unless they had possession deep in their own half. We were first to any loose balls and Ogilvie and Tucker were very strong at the back, Cundy as well. Lee and Graham terrorised their defence and Oliver clinical. 3 successive home wins now and 3 unbeaten in the league with some commanding performances.

A very good result, and unexpected! Would have taken a point all day long against Ipswich, and I was expecting a new manager bounce from them.We thoroughly deserved to win as well, which is great to see.Tucker with his first league goal for the club, and two more goals for Oliver who is bang in form. His second goal was a class finish, and reminded me of something Jarvis would do.A great win,and hopefully we can build on these recent results at Fleetwood.
