- The Gills last played a New Year's Day fixture at home in 2011 (when they beat Stevenage) and it was the only home game played then since 2005. There have been 3 away fixtures since 2011 - last season's defeat at Southend and 2 wins (2018 and 2013).
- Despite winning just 9 and losing 19 games against Portsmouth, the Gills have won 3 and drawn 1 of the last 4 league meetings between the sides.
- In the last 4 league meetings, the Gills have scored 7 goals whilst Portsmouth have scored 1. The Gills have conceded just 3 goals in 6 league meetings but have conceded 7 goals in the 3 cup games in-between them.
- The Gills have 1 league defeat in 7 (1 in 11 from games in all competitions) whilst Portsmouth have 2 league defeats in 11 (2 from 14 in all competitions).
- In all competitions, Portsmouth have won 8 of their last 11 games whilst the Gills have won 6 of their last 10.
- All 6 of Portsmouth's league defeats have come in their league games including their last 2 on the road - 1-3 at MK Dons and 1-4 at Accrington.

Come on you Gills, no looking ahead to next weekend, concentrate on today, and lets pick up 3 points. With a bit of luck and a bit of help from a couple of teams above us we could be right there looking at a win away from a spot in the top 6. Nice to think other teams losing could push us up the table with a Gills win, over the past couple of years it's always been them losing and keeping us up so as not to get relegated. The likes of Fleetwood, P Boro, Ipswich all seem to have hit big time rough patches, and Evans seems to have finally got it all figured out, so come on you GILLS , BIG WIN TODAY.

I thought the same. Let's hope his focus is on league survival and rests a few.

A good point, and that finishes a decent Christmas for us.We did seem leggy yesterday, but we dug in and got a late equaliser.Three points off the play offs, and a big FA Cup game to look forward to.

Yeah everything looking up for the Gills ,green lights everywhere, no stop lights no matter the West Ham score, although a draw would put some money in the bank from the replay so we could buy a true goal sniffer, who could put 15 in the net the rest of this season.
I have to feel sorry for the members of the " Anti Steve Evans Brigade" that have not been going to Gills games since he took charge, they are going to miss out on a home cup tie against a Big Dog, all because Mr Evans was a nasty man, even thou the world knows nice guys come last. Unless of course your Mr garawa, he seems to be a nice guy but somehow always seems to come first, just ask his wife, she will tell you that, what a nice guy he is, good to her and the kids, HHHHHMMMMMM, makes you think doesn't it , lol ?
