- It is honours even between the sides with both winning 14 of the meetings and another 7 ending as draws. The Gills have won 2 of the last 4 meetings.
- The Gills last won in Wigan in October 1997 (4-1) but have lost on each of the last 5 visits up there. The 2 goals scored in the 2-3 defeat on the last trip there were the only Gills goals scored in those 5 matches.
- Wigan have only lost once at home in the league this season - 2-1 to Bradford, whose 2 goals were the only ones conceded by Wigan in 12 home games!
- Wigan have 6 straight league wins on the road scoring 21 goals but at home have won just 2 out of 7, scoring just 6 goals.
- Wigan have 1 defeat in 18 league games (2 in 26 in all games) whilst the Gills have 1 defeat in 14 league games.
- Wigan have conceded just 2 league goals (and scored 23) in their last 10 games and have managed 5 successive clean sheets at home. Their last 3 home clean sheets however have all come in 0-0 draws.
- The Gills have the 6th best defence in League 1 but Wigan have conceded 19 fewer goals. Their 13 conceded matches the amount the Gills have conceded in just the first halves of games (19 in the second halves).

Does this give you more collywobbles Gillsfan? The last time we had won 4 in a row in the league it ended with defeat at Wigan!

I will be making the long trip.Leaving my house at 5.30 to get the coach for 6.45.It`s a new ground for me,and we can go there with no fear with our excellent form.Lovell says we will go there to attack,so that should make it a good game.If we get a point then it would be a great one against the best Team in the league.

Think maybe, just maybe the Space Telescope has the chalk board upside down, the guys in the training session saw attack as retreat. ? No problem now we can get on with consolidating that top ten finish I thought we would never see this year before Space took over.

We made the long trip in confident mood, but Wigan were a class above us all over the pitch. They closed us down quickly, and when they attacked they were dangerous.Grigg slotted home for Wigan, but Eaves unlucky not to equalise after his shot had hit the post. They grabbed the important second goal when the impressive Powell headed home.I did worry we could get a 5-0 thrashing, but we looked better in the second half as a side.Holy pulled off a decent save, and in the 93rd minute List was unlucky to see his header be given offside.A 2-0 defeat, but you have to hold your hands up and say they were a lot better. When you can bring on Vaughan, and not even have your new striker Devante Cole able to get into the 18 you know you`re against a side with much better resources. It was a long day,but I enjoyed my trip to Wigan.Hopefully we can start another unbeaten run starting against Peterborough.
