It started as a 3-5-2 with 3 centrebacks (Lacey, Zakuani and Nugent) and wingbacks of O'Neill and Ogilvie. Ehmer sat as a holding player as the fullbacks acted more as midfielders creating a diamond with Hessy pushing up behind Clare and List.
O'Neill was injured after 16 minutes and Parker came on so it reverted to a more standard 4-4-2 with Ehmer at the base of the diamond and Clare at the tip behind Parker and List.
