- The Gills have won just 7 of the 35 meetings whilst Tranmere have won 13. Although the draws outweigh the numbers wins for either side, the draw in the last meeting between the sides was the first in 9 games.
- The Gills lost a 2-goal half time lead to draw 2-2 the last time the sides met and followed 2 Gills wins during the 2013/14 season. This 3-game unbeaten spell succeeded 4 consecutive Tranmere wins with their last home victory over the Gills coming in August 2009.
- The Gills are unbeaten in their last 2 visits to Tranmere and their record over the last 6 games stands at 2 wins, 2 draws and 2 defeats.
- The Gills last 8 games with Tranmere have seen them score either 2 goals in the match (5 games) or no goals (3 games). Those 8 games saw 10 goals scored and 12 conceded.
- Tranmere ended last season with 2 wins from their final 2 games but have yet to win any of their opening 3 league and cup games, losing the first 2 league games.

Amazing to think we didn't have a shot on target and yet we still lost, how could that happen ? I am not blaming dear old Mr Scally for this debacle ,after all he didn't spend any money bringing these guys into the Gillingham FC family, so he can't be blamed for wasting money ,isn't that right old darling ? Not your fault is it,it was those nasty Tranmere Rovers players , playing all rough and scoring all those goals that done it.
Already next year is looking great, teams we have not played in the league for a millennium might well be on the calendar, teams like Woking, and Dorking Wanderers, not forgetting local derby's with Maidstone and Bromley, maybe even Upper Upnor or Lower Halstow might even be in that division for more local games .
Just think first game in our brand new 25,000 seat stadium, a complete sell out, tickets on the black market going for a 1,000 pounds or more, Mr Southampton facing the on going rail strike walking all the way from the south coast, Mr Lidbit might even be over COVID HEAD , and assuming Mrs G has not had another little g , Mr G working four jobs, might even be able to afford a ticket to see, THE GAME OF THE CENTURY, GILLINGHAM,CHATHAM, ROCHESTER BROMPTON and HOO FC (Scally changed the name at the edn of the 2022/23 season ) against that might Power House of English Football, from the Capital City of ENGLAND..........THE ROYALS better known as.... WEALDSTONE FC .

Who is this beating Manchester United 2-0 in the Premier Division, it can't be BRENTFORD in there new 18,000 seat stadium can it ? The same Brentford that in 2008 were in the Forth Division, no can't be, must be a different Brentford, maybe from Yorkshire or Cumbria. Win ,Draw or Lose,at least they have been there.
Sorry got the score wrong, 3-0. Oops wrong again,4-0.
