Saturday 4th
Last season's 3-2 win at Wigan was the Gills' only away win in the month of September over the last 6 seasons. The Gills won 4 games home and away last September after wining just 1 in the 2 seasons before and just 3 in the 4 before.

Sunday 5th
Gills results in the month of September:
Home wins - 191. Home defeats - 90
Away wins - 67. Away defeats - 209

Monday 6th
The consecutive away matches against Shrewsbury, Colchester (tomorrow) and Burton (11th) will be the 2nd occasion this season that 3 successive away games will have been played and the 4th occasion since December. The Gills didn't play more than 2 consecutive home games in that period.

Tuesday 7th
Match day - Colchester v Gills (EFL Trophy Group A, Match 1)

Wednesday 8th
McKenzie's stoppage time goal against Colchester avoided a third penalty shootout this season. The Gills have never featured in 3 in a season before. 2 of the 15 shootouts in Gills history have been against Colchester.

Thursday 9th
The most shots at goal in a Gills' game this season was the 17 taken against Lincoln on the opening day of the season. All 15 shots at goal against Colchester were taken in the second half of the match.

Friday 10th
The win over Colchester saw the Gills' first clean sheet of the season (8 games) which followed 5 in the final 11 games of last season. They started that season with 2 clean sheets in their first 15 games and 2 in the first 14 in the season before.
