Saturday 5th
Match day - Gills v Southend (Carabao Cup Round 1)

Sunday 6th
The Gills clean sheet against Southend was their 15th shut out in their last 30 games, a clean sheet rate of 50%. The 6 seasons prior to last season saw just 62 from 319 games, a clean sheet rate of 19.4%.

Monday 7th
Southend hit the woodwork twice in the opening game of the season. The opposition struck the frame of the goal 14 times in 43 games last season.

Tuesday 8th
Match day - Gills v Crawley (Checkatrade Trophy Group B, Match 1)

Wednesday 9th
The Gills have suffered a home sending off in the opening days of a new season in 3 of the last 4 seasons - Jackson (Sep 20), Ndjoli (Aug 19) and Wilkinson (Aug 17). They account for all of the Gills sendings off at Priestfield in the last 4 seasons. A further 6 red cards during the season all occurred in away games.

Thursday 10th
The Gills have won 2 home games in September and, since returning to League 1, only 1 of the previous 7 seasons saw more than 1 win in the month. Before this season, those 7 seasons had generated just 7 home wins from 18 matches in September.

Friday 11th
The Gills last won their opening 2 home games in the 2015/16 season, a season which saw them begin with 5 wins. Should the Gills beat Hull on Saturday, it will be only the 2nd season in 16 seasons that the Gills would have won their first 3 home games.
