BBC says 74,434 turned up to watch this match at Wembley today, and you guys said it was a washout competition,I wonder what the gate would have been if two of the Premier 2nd teams had been playing ?? Did the they give away free tickets , a hot dog and a coke to anyone in the UK who promised to sit in their seats till the end of the game ??

I think Coventry took 40,000 odd and I expect that would have spurred on a few extra Oxford fans to go. This was a show of defiance in my opinion. Firstly in a way to the owners to show what support the club could have instead of mass home boycotts and secondly as something to celebrate as they look certain to be relegated. Normally this competition would see around 55,000 in the final and would definitely have been very empty had there been Premier League B teams playing.

We moan about Gillingham and some of the strange things that go on, but just imagine being a Coventry fan over the last few years. I almost feel sorry for them!

I know they refused to pay for their ground last year ,and played in Northampton in front of 3,000 people (and they took 40,000 to London, guess London is closer to Coventry than Northampton ) but what else happened to them, and Orient ?

Coventry has been a disaster story for years now; bad management, losing then regaining their ground, no money for players, relegation after relegation. From Premiership to Div 2 is quite a spectacular fall from grace for a club who were a staple part of the top tier for years; sort of makes our yo-yo existence not so bad!

Think the owners of the ground want to use their mass support to charge them hideous rents. The owners have mismanaged the club to such a degree that there is little left for the club as a whole. That said they still have players we could never get! Orient have an absolute crackpot in charge who sacks managers for blowing their noses when they have a cold (not true) and will be getting what they deserve after such solid ownership in Barry Hearn.
