Watching the B Munich game , a player clearly off side running towards the keeper, the keeper is watching him because he is getting into a position to get the ball back, the ball goes over his head and someone on the back post heads the thing in the net, and it 's a goal, lets just scrap the offside rule and be done with it.

Did that in hockey; that's field hockey, a few years ago and it revolutionised the game. We all thought forwards would just hang around in the area in front of the goalie but that was actually really easy for the defenders to deal with and too, the forward out of the rest of the game. I agree; it would be worth a try as at the mo,net it is so confusing that no one really knows what the rule is anymore.

But why do we keep tinkering with it? Stop making it subjective and simply have it that if any player is played the ball without 2 opposition players between him and the goal its offside. Unless we introduce a quarter line whereby you can be in an offside position before you get to it. Linesmen don't seem to have a clue half the time.
