If you think Saturday was disappointing or you feel that not going up this season would be a mitigating disaster given previous positions then spare a thought for Remi Garde and the Aston Villa fans. Looking certain to go down they have little to cheer about so they looked to put things right by fielding 9 senior first XI players in a behind close doors game that would help to kick start a final push for safety and in a game they clearly should win.

So logic would suggest that the under 21s should play in the remaining league games.

If I was the boss I'd probably do it. That said I suppose none would be registered in their squad but I think you can have as many English youth players as you like can't you?

Carry on like that and they will struggle next season as well!

Man Utd had a few youngsters playing last night,and they did well.Villa have nothing to lose,so they could not be any worse playing their youngsters until the end of the season.
