Is Lee the key?

Lee was used in many positions last season with very few where he can best cause problems. He has looked decent so far in preseason, scoring 4 of the club's 5 goals so far. Green and MacDonald look like providing danger from wider positions and, at this level, Mandron is capable of double figures. I still expect Lloyd to be offered a reduced contract as an out of contract player if he proves his fitness.

Although the Portsmouth and Palace games resulted in defeats, the Gills clearly gave a good account and got back to 2-2 against the Premier League side containing Zaha and Benteke. When it comes to the likes of Barrow, Harrogate and Sutton, we surely should have some decent firepower IF they can stay fit.

So Lee scores lets say 15 goals this season, Mandron 12 ,and we get 6 or 7 each from the other forwards we have ,(14) that only needs us to find another 25 goals to be in the promotion hunt. If we don't DOUBLE last seasons tally of goals we ain't going NOWHERE. GFC need TWO more proven goal scoring forwards for this season if we expect to stand a chance of going up, it is pretty obvious that Scally is not going to spend the money on them, looking good for another mid table finish this year in the FOURTH DIVISION.
