Tales from the IT world.

Postby Mooke » Thu Feb 13, 2020 8:21 pm

I promise this is true.

As mentioned elsewhere, I work in IT, and the last 8 years, I have descended into what I think may have been Dante's IT inferno, and probably at least the 8th circle at that.

YOu don't have to IT literate to get this. Just put yourself in the callers shoes. And wonder what he must have thinking at the time.

Caller rings in, raises a ticket with IT support, Yours truly is the consultant despatched to investigate.

Its a first line ticket and I'm bored already. He has a question re WiFi.

Specifically.

"What are the medical effects if I balance my wifi router on my balls?"

I am not joking. That is taken from the memoirs of 20 years at the IT battlefront.

Seriously, a man trying to cook his balls with wifi.

And you wonder why I had to escape the world for a while. Because the world has taken leave of it freakin' senses!

But I promise you, it is a real tech issue taken from my time in the IT trenches. ANd you think we just reset passwords ? not a bit of it ….

I wish I had had the presence of mind to start the ticket reply

"Dear No Bollocks …."

After all, you should call a spayed and spayed …..

Terrible pun. sorry, but it was there.

The ticket is still true however! :-)
