As you can see by the match facts (to be posted shortly), Bolton have been on a torrid run with all their catastrophic goings on. The takeover that has been going on since May collapses shortly before the EFL's deadline to prove viability. The young players were burnt out and had conceded 5 goals in 3 successive games whilst barely managing a shot on target. The senior players at the club made themselves "unavailable for selection". If the game went ahead, it would be a trouncing against the young U23 players called on to keep the club alive. The game against us remained in place but the administrators stated that there was no money to travel to the game and that liquidation would start on Wednesday. At the same time, Bury were expelled and the league became a 23 team division.

BUT. A couple of hours later the takeover, thanks to the urgency created by the removal of the stay of execution given by the EFL, is finally completed (possibly after chairman Anderson realised that, like Bury's owner Steve Dale, he could be in charge of a very expensive boot fair venue)! Within 24 hours, they have gone from more dead than Bury to alive and kicking and I guess all the senior players will be chomping at the bit now to claw back their -11 point deduction. Against us. Great. Other teams have been given some nice goal difference whilst we face the back-lash by players desperate to prove what Bolton should be. Let's hope most of them are not fit!
