Deadline Day signings

Totally forgot to add these on Friday. It was an exciting deadline day when normally we wouldn't feature at all. Wednesday confirmed the signing of Billy King on loan from Dundee Utd.

With hours to go, the Gills announced the signing of Graham Burke from Preston.

They then teased the fans on twitter by showing an imminent signing with the players faced blanked out and being marked by Ryan Jackson. That player was Ricky Holmes who signed on loan from Sheff Utd. Although injured, he was unable to sign after the window and is due back "within a month".

Next up came the news that Tahvon Campbell had signed on loan from Forest Green Rovers shortly after Charlton announced the signing of Josh Parker.

Tom Eaves confirms on Twitter that he is staying at the club despite the "certainty" that he was heading to Sunderland (not to mention Millwall, Rangers and a few others).

The Gills then tweeted a photo of the office dark and that they were heading home. Shortly after, a photo of Sky Sport's Jim White on the phone was tweeted with the caption "Wait. What's this?" followed by a video of the media team walking down Redfearn Avenue and the stadium in darkness before a light in an office is turned on! Leonardo da Silva Lopes, a £1m+ signing for Wigan in the summer, is then announced with just a few minutes of the transfer window left.

Lopes and Holmes are likely to add some real quality to the side as well as width as Lovell now appears to have decided we need wingers. Burke by all accounts could be a very good acquisition and a decent partner for Eaves who I was certain was gone when Burke (a forward) and Holmes came in. Maybe our cup run has been invested in the playing squad - a nice rarity of late.
