Another three points at home and it is becoming more fun going to home games now. I thought this was an assured performance against admittedly an average MK Dons side. Everyone had a decent game with the defence looking as solid as I have seen so far. Beating a team that want to hurl themselves to the floor at every opportunity and playing with a ref who buys all the opposition's hysteria is not easy and having so many players booked in the first half could easily have caused a problem, but Gills kept their heads and kept trying to play to their plans. Conceding a penalty just before half time also wasn't ideal, but it was a poor effort which Nelson did well to repel. Dark had his best game for a while, Hessy put himself about and Cody kept the pressure on MKs defence throughout. JET was quiet but had some good moments and Nouble was a handful. Josh Wright still seems a little off form but he kept a grip of midfield after we scored. All in all it was a satisfying win and once we had scored I felt more relaxed than usual when we have a single goal lead. A good lead in to the Christmas period.
