David Kerslake interview

Postby Garawa » Thu Oct 13, 2016 11:58 am

"We called the players in for a chat to see how everybody feels, clear the air and draw a line under it."

Under what exactly? The poor performances? The inability to defend and keep a clean sheet? Is it that easy to just pull them in on Sunday and "draw a line under it" so we start winning again? If so then this suggests the players were deliberately not trying!

This is of course wasn't what he meant, he couldn't have so it must be true about team discord and "loss of dressing room" that gets bandied about far too regularly. You could see by some players mannerisms that they felt a certain way so let's hope this works and they perform for the manager again - I guess he had no choice as I would guess he is the last chance saloon. Whatever way you look at it we are in trouble if this simple piece of team leadership doesn't have an effect!

It obviously work d really well this afternoon then! Did the chat go, ' so come on lads, let's do exactly the same in the next game as we have done in the last three! We'll take the lead and then at the end we'll let the other team score twice and then we can lose again!' Do you think they'll be called in tomorrow for another clear the air chat? Dear oh dear.

2 very quick home games now on Tuesday and Saturday. If Edinburgh remains in charge, these games are going to be a very uncomfortable atmosphere indeed. We just can't carry on like this. We are either not fit enough to last 90 minutes or we don't have the confidence to keep a clean sheet and start to panic when leading late on. I suggest it is a bit of both but more the latter and I don't see how we can get out of that rut. Might need that sport psychologist back that we had working with Bayo when he was here.

Here is a thunk for you Mr. Garwa, were 25% of the way through the season, they dam well better be fit enough ,don't you think ?? . If there not confident enough running out on the pitch thinking there going to win each and every game of footie then get their dam asses on a bus and send them off on free transfers to Dover or Maidstone or where ever .
They don't need to keep a clean sheet just because they score first, , now that is putting pressure on the players if thats what the manager is telling them, I would be happy with a 3-2 win week in week out.
It's a pretty simple game, you kick the ball, you head the ball , you pass the ball, and you kick or head it in the other guys net more times than they kick or head it into yours, hell kids play the game it can't be that difficult can it ??
As for a sports PSY cologist , BULL CORN, only PSY the players need is PSY the South Korean singer, after ever loss they should be made to stand in the center circle and dance and sing to Gangnam Style, after one humiliation like that we would go undefeated for the rest of the season.
