Great business from the Gills, apparently turning down a £2m offer from Bristol City for Dack. There was interest in Egan that was also rebuffed (Brentford) so to keep our best two players whilst the sides closest to us lost a couple of key players is like signing two in my book! Fantastic dedication from Dack and how great that we are in a position where can afford to turn down an offer like that!!!

Where are Mr Scally"s detractors when you need them !!!
They would have been quick to put the boot in had the offers been accepted

We have to be pleased with our business as we have extended Samuel & Oshilaja`s loans, also turning down £500,000 from Brentford for Egan, and £2.5m for Dack.It shows the ambition of the club.

You can argue that the money isn't an issue due to potential revenue from the Championship but a) automatic promotion is far from a certainty and b) Walsall and Burton both lost key players and £3 would have bought 3 or 4 good players with a bit to spare! Also Egan could leave for free if we don't go up so that's an even bigger gamble however I doubt Dack's value would drop with 2 years still left on his contract compared with 2.5. It shows the club's intentions and I don't remember the last time we could afford to potentially lose out on that amount of money!!!

Happy to admit I'm pleased and surprised in equal measure.

I think unless Dack got seriously injured his value can only go up.He will continue to assist goals, and if he reached 18-20 goals you can probably add another few hundred thousand on.Egan worries me as he could go for a small amount in the summer as he is under 24.I'm pleased we have offered him an improved deal though.I personally think he will wait to see where we are in the Summer. He will probably be playing in the Championship whatever next season.

Egan is definitely keeping his options open and so he should. I think he likes it here and there is no reason to think he won't want to play for us should we go up. You're right about Dack, it was a no brainer but its refreshing to see a player that want's to get on and do rather than try his luck elsewhere even if risking being back where they are now the following season!!!

The other teams have cashed in on their assets which must weaken them on the pitch so it will be interesting to see who has made the correct decision at the end of the season. I do think it is important that we get right behind he team and stop the sniping at PS now as well as he has once and for all shown that the club is more than just a money maker for him.
