Too much Nelson or Holy is rubbish stuff on other forums, difficult to have a constructive debate without abuse. Both have their faults but it seems most fans are either totally against or for either keeper that no view that opposes it is possible. So, here are my thoughts on each so it will be interesting to read what others feel.
NELSON:
Strengths - good shot stopping, gets down quickly, excellent reactions.
Weaknesses - not as good in the air/crosses, liable to concede from "easier" shots, not as dominant in the box due to size.
Goal-keeper capabilities overall - 6/10 (7/10 for a League 1 keeper)
HOLY:
Strengths - good in the air/for crosses, commands his box better, better on one-on-one situations, bigger and stronger.
Weaknesses - poorer shot-stopper, difficult to get down a s quick.
Goal-keeper capabilities overall - 5/10 (5/10 for a League 1 keeper)
We could do with a combination of the two but, for me, Nelson just about edges it. Both make mistakes and that's why they are League 1 quality. Now we have a decent defence and more height in it, a keeper coming for crosses isn't as important for me as a Nelson type shot-stopper.
